Welcome to the gallery of Vincent Chiantelli

Vincent Chiantelli is an Illustrator as well as Sculptor and Mold maker. He specializes in painting realistic images of still life, environments as well as various creatures from reality and imagination.

He was born in California in 1978, and was raised on a 32 acre horse ranch for 15 years of his life. He was inspired by movies that had creatures in them that looked real. Movies like "Terminator", "Predator", "Aliens" and "Jurassic Park" amongst many others. His inspiration was by the late and great "Stan Winston" who created all those movies. Vincent taught himself how to sculpt and create masks and maquettes and he learned how to draw by reading books about great illustrators like "James Gurney", "Frank Frazetta" and "Bob Eggleton". His interests varied all over the map, one such interest was Paleontology. He collected books on fossils and dinosaur science to get a better understanding of their anatomy and how they lived so he could better understand them in his art. He eventually went to "Mendocino College" in Ukiah, CA. and received two degrees in ceramic arts and fine arts.

He eventually attended the "Laguna College of Art & Design" in Laguna Beach, California where he is receiving his BA in "Illustration for Entertainment". One of his works can be found in the "Prehistoric Illustrated Magazine" alongside James Gurneys artworks. He is currently working on an art book which will be published in mid to late 2013.

He has shown his works in various shows in California and Oregon. He also goes to different conventions with his artwork and giving free art advice to those who are interested. You can catch up on his works and journals on Deviant Art.
